I first met Jodie decades ago when she was running Jerry Brown’s campaign for Senator and I hosted a couple of breakfasts for him. This gorgeous creature has gone on, as the founder of Code Pink, a political activist organization where womanpower speaks truth in very visible and dramatic ways, to be an influential political figure in her own right. A philanthropist who is the past president of a quietly influential group of other philanthropists, this ravishing beauty looks more like a movie star than the tireless worker to make this a better world that she is, sitting on the board of a slew of my kind of organizations, including Drug Policy Alliance, Rainforest Action Network, Woman’s Media Center of which she is the Chair. She has produced several documentary films, including the Oscar-nominated The Most Dangerous Man in America (about Daniel Ellsberg of The Pentagon Papers) and Howard Zinn’s The People Speak.
