Hi, sue! Social skills can be a part of family education. Should we concern more about how to be qualified parents rather than hoping the school teach kids mindfulness and kindness.
I have grand kids in several different levels, and it seems every year these kids forget how to be respectful and caring about others. Many people are first to point their fingers at the school and teachers. I do agree they need to help educate these kids on that, nevertheless, it starts at home. I will first point my finger at the parents. However, it is all of our responsibility, if we want to change the overall concept of out great country, we must start with our kids.
For sure enlightened parents would raise enlightened kids. Whatever I do looks to raise the level of awareness in the whole culture. In the meantime, having programs in schools can compensate for parents who aren’t doing the job. And, a culture in a school where there’s a practice of kindness going on can be a great game to play! Wouldn’t it be a good thing if we had such a game for adults? Stay tuned for when we come out with something on our plate: Making L.A. a Friendlier City, that could be replicated in cities everywhere!

Hi, yes this what we should create. Schools where you develop social skills first and then all the other learning comes automatically from inside.

I think this talk goes beyond its title and offers a lesson in getting along, on the world’s stage as well as in the home.
