Vietnam – everything changed because of technology. Photography (newspapers) and television meant that people saw the lady on fire and carpet bombing. GIs refused to join. The world agreed. End Vietnam. In turn that led to Women’s Lib and the Black Panther movement and hippies (free-thinkers)
Thatcher in the UK and Reagan in the US changed the way the world handles money.

THINKING PEOPLE
This was the moment that could have changed everything. The whole world had come to a halt. True leaders would have found thinkers to create new ideas and new ways to move forward and live in a more fair and balanced way. (Doughnut Economics?) In short it was time for a new system!! It didn’t happen the first time around but after 2024………
Some forward thinking groups, the Scientific and Medical Network along with leading thinkers from Extinction Rebellion, Doughnut Economics, Greenpeace, Friends of the Earth, CEOs from B Corporations and many others formed a plan. This group called themselves THE WIZARDS. They suggested:-
Break the issues into smaller pieces – like doing a jigsaw or following a recipe. One step at a time.
The issues that needed changing and the order to take them in, with education coming first, were:-
- Education: relationship to people and planet. Take care of self first. Every human is responsible for their own actions. Teaching How to Love is Essential.
- Values would automatically change
- Money – having been educated, UBI and Doughnut Economics are obvious ways forward but could be adapted
- Health – again, how to treat ourselves and others (and the planet) would come alongside education
- Politics: people will want to join in on decision-making re how to live (which is politics – how we behave to and with others)
- Farming and Factories: again Doughnut Economics along with common sense (and love). We now have less chemicals in our food and in the land and seas. We still have factories but there is production of ‘healthy’, sustainable products that are made to last, along with jobs for those who would like or need extra work
- Water/Oceans/Forests: are now stewarded with conscious care, all leading to
A Balanced planet with Happy People, Plants and LIFE stewarded by WIZARDS

Look At The Evidence – From Caveman to Wizard
Report by Martha Smiles Brown
It’s the 1st of January 2050 and I just arrived home from a very privileged position as one of the first to see the satellite pictures of our planet and its new, improved systems. And by combining the satellite pictures with media reports (social, national and international), it’s very clear that significant changes have been made. Not only are people living with few problems and are HAPPY but also, Mother Nature herself is thriving!! Our satellite pictures show clean oceans, massively improved re-growth of rainforests, birds and other creatures that are no longer on the verge of extinction and overall, very few areas that have been abandoned, trashed and sucked dry or suffering from over-crowding. Human beings are treating each other, their surroundings and Planet Earth as a whole with LOVE and respect. Having started with the motto taken from Extinction Rebellion: System Change NOT Climate Change ‘they’ realised something had to be done and now we see – the new system works!!
I must admit, at one point we thought the change was just a dream. It didn’t seem possible. ‘They’ (the powers that be) were not listening and conflict was getting worse on every level. It all seemed so complex but in reality, once the change started to happen, it was like watching the domino effect. So many people had been searching for solutions for so long and once the first domino fell, the others followed. So what came first? It seems that it was the agreement that it was time to do two things. Firstly change education. And then give women a chance. It was time to work from the heart, not the head. And so many women were starting to understand that WE ARE ALL ONE. For as long as anyone could remember, it had been men who were in charge. The world was dominated by patriotism. And men had led us into war. So at the beginning of 2024, because of ongoing conflict between Russia and the Ukraine followed by serious confrontation between Israel and the Arab states that had been happening for nearly a hundred years with no mediation, there was a very real possibility of Another World War. And shortly after that, the news was released that there were signs of a second pandemic.
The first pandemic, Covid 19, had brought the world to a halt and all sorts of realisations had been exposed. People had seen that community was important. Human beings are able to CARE!! So it was understood that society as a whole needs to include the caring factor. With time to think, many people realised that they didn’t want to go back to normal. The prospect of a second pandemic and it all happening again was enough to send people into a mass panic but luckily the memory of the last experience was still fresh enough that, along with new understandings of inequality and climate change, the ‘powers that be’ realised, that the time for change must be grabbed. However, one of the difficulties was that not enough ‘ordinary’ people were aware of or understood the problems and even those in positions of power were not in the habit of working together. Collaborating would be a new skill. So, the first need that screamed was: INFORM and EDUCATE. In fact, we needed to teach people on all levels; include all people of all ages, cultures, creeds and complexity and teach globally how to care and how to cooperate. This was the moment to instigate ‘The Importance of Conscious Caring and How to Put it into Practice’.
Some of us had seen change approaching for a while. Young people had started communicating with many of the older generation – the ageing hippies who had been alive to see magnificent change after Vietnam. The older folk had seen Reagan and Thatcher change the money system, which was followed by the change in politics and therefore a life that promoted the victim mentality, selfishness and greed. The first pandemic had given us ideas of consciousness and community, compassion and consideration. (Let’s call it Love!) We had witnessed the learning curve of the human race and we could see that along with fantastic inventions and ‘progress’, there had also been immense cruelty and injustice – to life on every level. Industrialisation and imperialism had led to consumerism that was bleeding the planet to death and even though the pandemic highlighted the issues, no change was instigated by world leaders or corporations – basically, the humans who were running the show. It was time for ordinary people to make a stand. However, what exactly could they do?
So – how to inform and educate ‘the masses’? In the old days (‘the golden days’ when life was still simple) the idea that we were all part of the same living body had been shared and transmitted via religion. But science had become the new religion and that, in turn, had been followed by a political culture of ‘money is our god’. That tied in with selfishness and greed, supported by insecurity and generations of ‘lost souls’ who felt neglected, separate and alone. They had not been told We are All ONE!! We are all the tiny molecules that make Planet Earth. We work as ONE BEING!!
So the first step was to teach everyone to be aware, to be conscious. And to live from the heart. Life begins when the baby is in its mother’s womb so pregnant mums learned how to be sensitive to their baby as well as to their own needs. One of the first lessons was given using music. Music was about vibrations. Once people realised that they were being affected by music, it was fairly easy to teach them that the behaviour of each person was going to affect everyone else’s lives and behaviour. And having opened their hearts, their eyes and their minds, the next step was to teach a process. How to take care. (How to love!) First of all you can (and must) take care of your self. Again, begin by looking within. Make adjustments – conscious consideration to all aspects of yourself. Then, look after your family. Follow that with your community (and even your working partners) and then your area/village/ town/city. Care and consideration for area is followed by care for nations with, finally, conscious care and consideration spreading to the world as a whole.
Having become aware that we needed to care, the idea that we needed to offer better treatment to all life – meaning animals, plants, forests, oceans and planet, was very clear. Sadly, even though 92% of people here in the UK said that they didn’t want to go back to the way it was before ‘the lockdown’, that was exactly what had happened. And seeing as everything constantly changes and time never stands still, and because nobody made moves to make things better, things got worse. So we had conflict. First of all between Russia and Ukraine, followed by real conflict between Israel and the Arabs – a conflict that had been brewing for many years. It seemed that the planet was in chaos.
Luckily an organisation called the Scientific and Medical Network had started an investigation into Consciousness Education; how it could affect the population and how education could be changed. The idea of education ‘to get a job’ became obsolete. To be encouraged and nurtured to fulfil their potential full human being-ness would offer a path for all humans to discover an understanding of life itself, showing ultimately that
1) We are all connected. There is only one piece of energy. I am you and you are me. We are We!! Every action and every thought, has a ripple effect. We ALL affect it ALL. We all affect each other. We are all in this together.
2) As individuals we have very little control. However, the only thing we can control is our own self – our emotions and our state of mind. And not only we CAN control our selves but we have a responsibility to do so.
3) When each individual takes care of their own life, the whole will take care of itself.
So look within and find what makes you happy. Reveal your whole self and BE REAL!! Also, nurture your feminine side. We can all be gentle folk. All we need is love. Love is Strong.
Once people had realised the power of the mind, huge steps forward could be taken. The whole system could be re-designed. No longer was it essential to ‘keep people occupied’ (and off the streets) so – giving them jobs in factories making products that break (built-in obsolescence) became totally unnecessary. At that point, it was still mostly men who made decisions. And because they had no mediation skills, they were making war not peace. Consumerism was the name of the game and the amount of money spent on weapons was obscene. The idea dawned that women might do a better job. Women at least had the possibility of functioning from the heart and they were more likely to work from a point of view whereby Love is the Answer. This was not the silly romantic love (that is all good fun but based on selfishness and internal satisfaction) but – the POWER OF REAL LOVE! The women involved understood and followed the principle that human beings are a small part of a bigger picture (a universe) and that if anything, our role as human beings is to act as stewards. The time had come to stop taking stuff out of Mother Earth. We already have so much so – start re-distributing. Use what we already have and if it’s down to hard cash – take it from people who have some.
As for ‘hard cash’, another ‘first job’ was to change the financial situation. Universal Basic Income had already been investigated and discussed, as had Doughnut Economics (an actual process whereby resources and goods were shared fairly according to need and supply). In return for a basic income, some basic ‘work’ (or time and energy contribution) would have to be offered. The ‘caring’ needs would be met by all people offering some time with either young or old or the not-so-well, and the time that was spent could be flexible. However, this meant that people understood and practised ‘job satisfaction’ and therefore enjoyed the contribution that they made. UBI meant that basic needs were met worldwide and if people wanted ‘more’ they would be able to offer different skills or simple manual labour. Built-in obsolescence would be a thing of the past so factories would still exist; we could still have cars and aeroplanes and fridges but – not so many and better quality. We could learn to share and organise with care. And weapons were no longer needed as people would be educated to care and to mediate – with each other. In fact, because people cared more and treated each other with respect (and even love), there was less need for policing and the army became an organisation that was used for mediation and peace-keeping. There was no longer a need for weapons.
Some of the more advanced businesses had become B Corporations, using a more ethical and considerate process of functioning. Alongside Better Businesses, the joy and the pleasure of regenerative farming became the norm. Working with nature proved to be a wonderful step – using indigenous ways. It became the acknowledged way for food production alongside less use of chemicals and more local and small-scale food growth. News spread of new beginnings re the alternative distribution of wealth: “No bonuses for bosses of failed internal structures” e.g. water boards that had allowed sewage to enter rivers and seas were not rewarded. Keeping the oceans clean and allowing the life in them to regenerate too went hand-in-hand with sustainable forestry (for example, no more chopping trees in rain forests). Subsidies were no longer given to fossil fuel companies that refused alternatives that do not nurture warmth and comfort. The large amounts of money that had previously been ‘hoarded’ in off-shore bank accounts were used to make sure that world-wide access to clean water and electricity were available. And the change in education (Be Kind and Helpful to All Life) began to be witnessed and shared. More people realised that their own needs would be met so that it was easy for all concerned to be compassionate and kind. Hoarding of money was banned. Basically nobody needed to hoard money as, if anything, they felt greedy if/when they were exposed as keeping any ‘profits’ for personal use.
Alongside money being shared more fairly and education being covered in a holistic way, health was clearly in need of a new understanding. However, along with each individual learning how to be conscious and considerate, people became aware of their own personal ability to make sure that their own health was kept on a better level and even to heal others. Once people started re-membering the fact that they had the ability to heal, there was no stopping them. Much less medication was needed so what had been known as Big Pharma disappeared. The health of the planet itself also benefitted from this better attitude. The media changed too. Newspapers and television programmes that focussed on ‘disaster’ news just disappeared. People began to realise that criticism was not helpful and that focussing on positive events and attitudes led to happier communities. Attitudes moved from head to heart-based.
Finally, politics needed a more advanced model. People realised that there must be a way for everyone to understand how to create a way that is good for everyone concerned. A very simple code was developed that gave space for people of all different creeds, colours and beliefs to function alongside each other. And EVERYONE was encouraged to join in on politics as it involves everyone playing a part in life itself. Every single individual, needed to understand that we are all parts of the whole, tiny parts of one planet.
So, with three basic, simple rules, a Manifesto For Life was developed:-
To thine own self be true. Love thy neighbour as yourself. Do no harm.
With this as a guideline, decisions could be flexible and change according to the needs of the area and the people concerned, very often using Doughnut Economics as a framework.
The ways of indigenous people of the past gave huge insight. Apparently, in 2009 an island called Anuta in the South Pacific was seen as an example of how to live sustainably. Anuta had the highest population density in the world at the time. An important value in Anutan society was aropa, which emphasized collaboration, sharing and compassion for others. The concept of aropa encourages islanders to share their finite resources equitably. Because Anuta’s high population density had not had a severely negative impact on the island’s ecosystem it must have seemed very useful for a world that needed to create a better way. In 2024 that programme was repeated and gave ideas.
Anyway, back to 2050. I could see that having sorted out the basics from 2024 onwards, life could go on in a much healthier way. As for the learning curve of the human race, the new balanced human could be born. The transformation from caveman to wizard had been traumatic but – it’s been done. We have moved on!! The satellite pictures show well distributed areas for farming, housing and even industrial areas. And people can move around and use the resources appropriately. Planet Earth can be seen to be managed in such a way that life thrives with diverse examples of plants and animals and Life as a Whole is all successfully stewarded by happy humans who live with heart and soul.
We managed to change
➢ Education
➢ Values and Money
➢ Health
➢ Politics
➢ Water/Oceans/Forests
➢ Planet – conscious of what is taken out and what is put in so ……..
➢ Balance
And, as I saw from the air (and the people I met) today, yes, the proof is out there.
