The Reality of ESP: A Physicist’s Proof of Psychic Abilities
TALK: Physicist Russell Targ will describe the current scientific evidence and early spiritual antecedents of psychic abilities. During the 1970s and 80s, Stanford Research Institute(SRI) carried out investigations of our ability to experience and describe distant events blocked from ordinary perception. This intuitive capacity was named remote viewing, and the research was supported by the CIA and manyother government organizations to gather intelligence during the Cold War. Targ, co-founder of this psychic research program that was highly classified until its termination in 1995, will present a summary of the very best evidence for extrasensory perception and precognition. He also will describe the close relationship between remote viewing and the non-locality of modern physics.” This research was published in Nature, in 1974, and in the Proceedings of the IEEE, in 1976.
BIO: Russell Targ is a physicist and author who was a pioneer in the development of the laser and laser applications, and was co-founder of the Stanford Research Institute’s (SRI) investigation into psychic abilities in the 1970s and 1980s. His work with SRI in what was a new area, called remote viewing, has been widely published. His most recent book is The Reality of ESP: A Physicist’s Proof of Psychic Abilitites. In 1976, Targ retired from Lockheed Martin Missiles & Space Co. as a senior staff scientist.

The Revolution in Consciousness:The Global Community is Now
TALK: For three centuries, the human mind has been equated with the physical brain. This means that consciousness is annihilated with the death of the brain and body. We now know, however, that consciousness can do things that brains cannot do: it can act outside the confines of the here and now. Dr. Dossey will provide evidence that consciousness is infinite or nonlocal in space and time, and is therefore eternal, immortal, and one with all other minds. This sets the stage for a communal, planetary ethic that is crucial for our survival. This revolution in consciousness is as bright and hopeful as the conventional view is dismal, and portends a brilliant future for humanity.
BIO: Larry Dossey, MD, is an internal medicine physician, former Chief of Staff of Medical City Dallas Hospital, and former co-chairman of the Panel on Mind/Body Interventions, National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine, National Institutes of Health. He is executive editor of the peer-reviewed journal, Explore: The Journal of Science and Healing. He is the author of twelve books, which have been translated into twenty languages, on the role of consciousness and spirituality in health. His forthcoming book, in 2013, is One Mind: How Our Individual Mind Is Part of a Greater Consciousness and Why It Matters. He lectures around the world.

Marianne Williamson
Love restores reason, Not the other way around
TALK: Humanity is trying to evolve beyond the mechanistic, Newtonian perspective of the 20th century–past data and metrics to a more relational, even spiritual worldview. From competition to collaboration, from ambition to inspiration, from sales to service, from me to we–we’re being called to a radical change in humanity’s basic operating principle from economics to humanitarian values as our bottom line. Anything less, and the human race is in peril.
BIO: Marianne Williamson is an internationally acclaimed author and lecturer. Six of her ten books have been New York Times Best Sellers and four have been #1. A Return to Love is considered a must-read of The New Spirituality. A paragraph from that book, beginning “Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure…” is considered an anthem for a contemporary generation of seekers. Other books include The Age of Miracles, Everyday Grace, A Woman’s Worth, Illuminata, Healing the Soul of America, A Course in Weight Loss, and The Gift of Change. Her new book, THE LAW OF DIVINE COMPENSATION: On Work, Money and Miracles, was published in November 2012.

A New Story to Revive an Old Paradigm
TALK: The paradigm shift we need must reconnect us to our origin if we as a species are to survive—we are interdependent and interconnected with all that is. Unfortunately, the industrial revolution, the first paradigm shift in the last 600 years, gave us the technological skills for an assault upon the earth, which we now see as a source for profits. Emotionally and physically disconnected from her, we are attacking our mother, our means of sustenance. The computer-techno-IT explosion caused a further disconnection. We need a new story. We need to see the folly of waging war—against ourselves and the earth. Schools must inspire discussion and engage students in the quest. The good news is that most of our problems were created by humans, and the right kind of education can lead to their solutions.
BIO: Paul Cummins was the Founder and Headmaster of the Crossroads School, and Founder of PS Arts and New Visions Foundation, where he currently is the Executive Director. Craig Weiler
The history of the resistance of the paranormal by the scientific community
TALK: Ted is only a symptom of the control that the Skeptics hold on our understanding, preventing all but fundamentalists scientific materialism from being given proper attention. But the world is changing, and the attention TED has drawn to the issue has given respectable and credentialed academics a focus for sharing their thoughts and influencing the world, which hopefully will be a pivot to a new understanding.
BIO: Craig Weiler is a prominent blogger and speaker in the psychic/parapsychology community, focused on bridging the gap between psychics, scientists and intellectuals. His recent accomplishments include coverage of the censorship of biologist Rupert Sheldrake and writer Graham Hancock as well as breaking the story of the removal of the TEDxWestHollywood license. Craig is a psychic healer, teacher and student of psi abilities and regularly gives talks and discussions on various aspects of psychic ability. Read more about Craig on his website.

Rational Spirituality: The Leading Edge of Science?
TALK: The ongoing debate between materialism and dualism is fueled by reductionism and scientism at one extreme, versus mysticism and magical thinking at the other. However, when the more rational voices on both sides of this debate are honored, a new respect for both science and spirituality can emerge. The ideal scientists are seen as the diligent truth-seekers, doubting their own perceptions, subjecting their observations and hypotheses to rigorous peer review and potential falsification. And the ideal mystic is seen as a scientist turned inwards, delving into the subjective realms of imagination, intuition and the phenomenology of consciousness – the domain of spirituality. Some of the greatest works of science have emerged from blending subjective exploration (including dreams and visionary imagination) and rationality (including logic, skepticism and free inquiry). Truth-seeking visionaries have been unashamed to point out the shortcomings of failed paradigms while boldly pioneering new conceptual world views that form the leading edge of science. It is argued that building bridges of understanding between science and spirituality would greatly serve the betterment of the human condition. However, while the rationalists have at their disposal powerful tools of communication, including semantics, mathematics and logical reasoning, the communication of subjective states of consciousness remains problematic and non-precise, often relying on philosophy, literature, religion or the arts. Multisensory immersive media environments are introduced as powerful tools to stimulate unique and ineffable states of consciousness that do not lend themselves to the usual methods of rational discourse. It is hoped that this unique experience can evoke deeper understanding between the scientist and the mystic.

ENTERTAINMENT
Suzanne Taylor MC
Since becoming a filmmaker, I have been a speaker at several conferences and have done perhaps 100 radio shows, some of them more than once. I was on camera for the pledge drive showing of my crop circle documentary, What On Earth?, on a Colorado PBS station, and have organized and hosted two series of webinars for Evolver Intensives. My home, in Los Angeles, is a gathering place for progressive activists. For years, I’ve produced events and projects about the great shift of consciousness sweeping through humanity that’s opening our minds to a bigger reality than the one in which we are so violent with one another and so destructive to the planet. I am of an old school, where graciousness and active hosting were the rule. No potlucks in my domain, where people aren’t just observers but presence themselves personally.

Wendy Salter says
Thank you so much, Suzanne and all your guests, this is a truly awesome platform for amazing people who are courageous enough to get up and tell their stories, and in so doing give us, the watchers and listeners, a family, a connection to a thread of Light that encircles the world. I once heard someone say, “We will know nothing until science and spirituality come together”. It may have been me … I seem to have the ability to experience my spiritual world and understand it with my scientific mind. The wonders of Creation cannot be a happy accident, for everything is so beautifully organised with an inbuilt key to randomly re-create itself in the most imaginative ways. Love is The Way.
SUE Speaks says
So glad you reacted as you did to what I also think of as a family — my carass, as Kurt Vonnegut described the mutuality among people who see beyond the materialistic, greed-based world. And of course how this world all came to be is still mostly mystery. Who designed it all? That’s a veil it doesn’t seem likely ever will lift, as it tantalizes us with fodder for the creativity the human species is blessed with that hopefully will lead to the understanding that love is indeed the way.
